We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Bookkeeper with HR and profit analysis experience to manage financial operations, support human resources, and provide insight into profitability. The ideal candidate will play a key role in maintaining financial health, streamlining HR processes, and identifying opportunities to increase profitability and optimize costs.
Key Responsibilities:Financial Management:
- Maintain accurate financial records, including income, expenses, and transactions.
- Reconcile bank and credit card statements to ensure accuracy.
- Manage accounts payable/receivable, processing invoices, and ensuring timely payments.
- Collaborate with management on financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management review.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations and assist with payroll tax and year-end tax preparation
- Profitability and Cost Analysis:
- Analyze the lab's income statement to identify trends, variances, and areas of improvement.
- Monitor key financial metrics, including cost of goods sold (COGS), gross margins, and net profit.
- Provide insights on sales trends, product profitability, and customer performance.
- Identify inefficiencies or cost-saving opportunities to improve profit margins.
- Work with management to establish profit targets and develop plans to meet or exceed them.
- Track and analyze average selling price, volume, and other profitability levers.
- Develop efficiency reports related to fixed costs and labor utilization.
- Collaborate with department heads to set and monitor KPIs related to financial performance.
Payroll & Benefits:
- Process bi-weekly/monthly payroll, ensuring accuracy of hours, deductions, and taxes.
- Manage employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other perks.
- Handle employee reimbursements and payroll inquiries efficiently.
Human Resources Management:
- Support recruitment efforts, including job postings, resume screening, and interview scheduling.
- Manage onboarding and offboarding, including paperwork and benefits enrollment.
- Maintain accurate employee records and ensure compliance with labor laws.
- Assist with employee relations, including performance reviews, conflict resolution, and disciplinary actions.
- Stay updated on state and federal labor regulations and ensure compliance.
- Support employee engagement initiatives and organize training and development programs.
General Office and Process Management:
- Assist with general office duties, such as ordering supplies and scheduling meetings.
- Maintain internal processes to streamline office, financial, and HR operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, human resources, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience as a bookkeeper with HR and financial analysis responsibilities.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks and HR tools.
- Strong understanding of payroll, tax regulations, and labor law compliance.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret financial data and offer actionable recommendations.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and manage time efficiently.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in a dental lab, healthcare, or manufacturing setting.
- Familiarity with manufacturing accounting practices.
- Advanced skills in Excel for data analysis and reporting.
