About the role:
This internship is designed to give students practical exposure to professional software development practices while making meaningful contributions to ongoing projects. Interns will work with mentors to support software development teams by assisting in development tasks and project support work. They will participate in regular in-person and virtual team meetings from 21CS’s Morehead City headquarters where they can receive guidance from senior developers on their teams and learn about the software development lifecycle.
Interns will:
- Use REXX JCL, Python, or Javascript to automate software testing
- Make supervised code contributions and participate in code reviews with senior developers
- Gain experience with version control systems (Git, Jenkins), agile workflows (Jira), and team collaboration tools (Confluence, Slack, MS Teams)
- Contribute to internal tooling for automation and ISPF panel tools
Skills and Experience:
- Currently enrolled in a relevant BSc or MSc program
- Motivated to learn new technologies
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong eagerness to learn and work with various departments in the company.
- Familiarity with one or more programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, JCL or REXX is a plus.
