Skills :
Knowledge and application of mechanical, electrical, and electronic principles and circuitry, the ability to troubleshoot malfunctions, and the skill to repair and maintain a variety of scientific equipment.Ability to interpret and apply schematic drawings, wiring diagrams, P&ID drawings, technical service manuals, and other specifications.Skill in the use of electronic test equipment such as voltmeters, multimeters, oscilloscopes, signal generators.Ability to use electrical test equipment such as meggers, ohmmeters, test meters; skill in the use of such equipment as micrometers and calipers to detect wear and misalignment of gears, cams, valves, and other mechanical parts; and ability to use seat wrenches, and pressure gauges when working on hydraulic systems.Conventional Shop EquipmentStatement of Work Details :
Designs and develops biomedical equipment.Calibrates electronic pipettors, pH sensors, conductivity sensors, pressure sensors and temperature sensors.Coordinates the testing and analysis process.
Maintain and update master service records for scientific instruments and research services equipment; Inventory and update parts lists and procurement ordering data for scientific and research equipment.Tests the functionality of equipment and takes accuracy, sensitivity, and selectivity measurements.
Maintain, test, calibrate and repair a wide variety of veterinary medical and biological research lab equipment, instruments and devices used across the entire RML campus.Primary equipment serviced includes steam sterilization autoclaves, rack washers, tunnel washers, labware washers, drying ovens, bottle fillers, and animal watering systems.Maintenance and repair may include chemical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, vacuum, suction and pressure systems as well as water, steam, air, pressurized gases, and power supplies associated with equipment serviced.Repair mechanical equipment and mechanical assemblies using gears, shafts, and pulleys.Select proper replacement parts,modification kits, and identify materials, mechanisms, and components from a knowledge of electrical or electronic symbols, color codes, descriptions, and manufacturer's numbers.Service laboratory instruments such as centrifuges, incubators, cryostats, x-ray film processors, anesthesia vaporizers, analytical balances, plate washers, rockers, cell shakers etc.Monitors biomedical equipment to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Conduct preventive maintenance inspections of scientific and research equipment to determine component condition and operation sequences are within specifications
