Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated medical professional to provide top-notch care to inmates in a correctional facility. As a nurse in our team, you will be responsible for observing, assessing, and recording the symptoms, reactions, and progress of patients under your care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Make regular nursing rounds, take vital signs, and document patient information.
- Prepare and administer prescribed medications, as well as order treatment plans and immunizations as necessary.
- Monitor restrained patients on a timely basis and provide immediate medical attention to emergencies.
- Counsel patients regarding the need for medical referrals and schedule appointments as necessary.
- Participate in staff development and education, review care plans written by staff, train and orient new employees.
- Perform specialized procedures, including IV therapy, chemotherapy, wound care, oxygen therapy, dialysis, blood transfusion, incubation, and CPR.
- Organize and oversee 'code blue' teams, direct health care staff assigned to the area, and act as lead worker in charge of one assigned shift in the absence of a nurse supervisor.
- Complete clerical tasks, such as charting all medications, treatments, and pertinent medical information, completing required reports, documenting Medicaid information, ordering supplies and equipment, and maintaining constant and exact inventory of all controlled drugs, medication, and equipment.
Requirements:
- Active RN license for the State of Ohio
- BLS/CPR Card
