NASCO Products LLC is a Contract manufacturer of private label cigarettes & filtered cigars for domestic & international distribution. NASCO also manufactures VLN, the world’s first and only combustible cigarettes that have received Modified Risk Tobacco Product (MRTP) authorization from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
The current hours for this role are Monday-Thursday 5:30am - 2:00pm and Friday 6:00am-2:30pm. Overtime hours may be required to meet production needs.
Position Summary:
The Packing Production Mechanic is responsible for mechanical repairs and adjustments to the assigned GD X-1, GD X-2, and/or Focke high speed cigarette packing equipment. Is responsible for machine health and overall equipment effectiveness.
*****Only Mechanics with prior Cigarette Packing experience on GD X1, GD X2, & Focke Packing Machinery will be considered for this position at this time.
Essential Functions:
- Ability to operate GD X-1, GD, X-2, and/or Focke high speed packing equipment and meet product quality, output, and waste requirements as well as regulatory compliance.
- Ability to diagnose machine problems and make any necessary mechanical adjustments to mitigate excessive machine downtime.
- Repair or maintain the operating condition of high-speed industrial production or processing machinery or equipment.
- Repair or replace broken or malfunctioning components of machinery or equipment.
- Disassemble machinery or equipment to remove parts and make repairs.
- Observe and test the operation of machinery or equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using voltmeters or other testing devices.
- Capable of reassembling equipment after completion of inspections, testing, or repairs.
- Clean, lubricate, or adjust parts, equipment, or machinery.
- Examine parts for defects, such as breakage or excessive wear.
- Operate newly repaired machinery or equipment to verify the adequacy of repairs.
- Analyze test results, machine error messages, or information obtained from operators to diagnose equipment problems.
- Record parts or materials used and order or requisition new parts or materials, as necessary.
- Record repairs and maintenance performed.
- Study blueprints or manufacturers' manuals to determine correct installation or operation of machinery.
- Enter codes and instructions to program computer-controlled machinery.
- Demonstrate equipment functions and features to machine operators.
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required; associate degree or bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
- Minimum 3 - 5 years in high-speed industrial environment.
- Minimum 3 years of cigarette packing mechanical experience with high-speed manufacturing equipment.
- Self-motivator with Exhibit high sense of urgency.
- Basic knowledge of tools such as wrenches, gauges, etc.
- Knowledge of various units of measurement such as Standard, Metric, and British Standard.
- Strong mathematical skills; analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Basic knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics preferred.
- General understanding of machine diagrams and blueprints.
- Strong verbal and written skills.
