Description:
- The Quality Engineer will lead and manage the testing, monitoring, and inspection processes for Global Equipment Platforms. This includes developing the necessary processes, methodologies, equipment, and technology to enable effective and efficient product verification.
- This role requires a comprehensive understanding of engineering principles, exceptional attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of enhancing the quality of complex electro-mechanical systems through lab-based testing.
- They will evaluate test results against established procedures and recommend improvements to existing testing protocols or develop new ones.
- Testing will include beverage quality, equipment performance, system design suitability, software functions, and system reliability.
Responsibilities:
- Leads efforts to clarify system and system requirements, interpreting and translating requirements into functional specifications.
- Generate and maintain quality plans for new products.
- Perform hand-on tests on products, components, materials, and equipment to ensure they meet established quality and engineering standards.
- Build test fixture and conduct test on equipment containing fluidics, mechanical components, software, and electronics.
- Utilize a strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and electromechanical systems.
- Apply knowledge of quality testing fundamentals, including defect identification, failure evaluation, troubleshooting, test report generation, and defect submission.
- Work in a lab environment with controlled temperature settings, and potentially be exposed to various environmental conditions, such as noise, fumes, and fluctuating temperatures.
- Identify areas for improvement in the QA process and propose modifications to enhance product quality, collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams.
- Demonstrate excellent verbal, listening, and written communication skills.
- Exhibit superior organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with cross-functional teams.
- Maintain an organized workspace in accordance with 5S principles.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Ability to lift heavy weights 20 - 50lbs
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or related scientific field.
Experience
- At least 5 years (preferably 10 years) of experience with complex systems that includes electronics, software, fluid and mechanical components.
- At least 2 years of experience in quality assurance, ideally within an engineering or manufacturing setting.
- Previous experience in a laboratory environment, preferably within the beverage industry.
- Familiarity and proficiency with fundamental QA testing tools, equipment, methodologies, and basic computer skills.
- Strong ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex quality-related issues.
- Strong analytical, technical, and organizational skills, with a solid understanding of engineering principles.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to follow instructions, review procedures, and complete necessary documentation.
