Job Description :
- To produce a comprehensive evaluation report that answers the research questions outlined in the evaluation plan and provides clear recommendations for the Problem Gambling Treatment and Support Advisory Committee to improve upon current efforts, expand capacity to provide problem gambling services, and reduce the negative impact of problem gambling across Virginia.
Role & Responsibilities :
Proficiency in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting quantitative and qualitative data.Ability to identify program strengths and weaknesses, analyze the root causes of issues, and develop creative solutions for improvementStrong written and verbal communication skills.Experience with data collection methods, such as surveys, interviews, and focus groups, and ensuring the quality and reliability of collected data.
Ability to write clear and concise reports that effectively communicate evaluation findings to stakeholders.Education, Experience, Licensure, and Certification required for entry into the position :
Experience managing multiple tasks, timelines, and resources, requiring strong organizational and planning skillsEffective communication and collaboration with stakeholdersFamiliarity with various evaluation methodologies and the ability to design and implement a rigorous evaluation planSignificant experience analyzing collected data, drawing conclusions, and identifying trends and patterns that inform program improvementDuties / Assignments :
Project Kick-off and Workplan Development
Facilitate a virtual project kick-off meeting with the Problem Gambling Prevention Coordinator and any other relevant project staff.Develop a customized project plan to address specific project needs and identify the methodological tools and evaluation approaches to ensure project success. Deliverables include a finalized project work plan with set timelines for all project activities.Confirm a final scope of work and timeline, establish communication norms, and set a meeting schedule for regular check-ins.Problem Gambling Landscape Analysis :
Conduct a problem gambling landscape review to inform the development of the evaluation plan and final report. This will include :Research into other states in the US that are currently engaged in problem gambling prevention, treatment, and recovery efforts. This would include a comparison of activities and services provided by those states to activities and services provided in Virginia.Based on an initial scan of states, OMNI and the Problem Gambling Prevention Coordinator would identify six to eight other PG Coordinators / Administrators to participate in key informant interviews.Evaluation Plan Development :
Work with the Problem Gambling Prevention Coordinator and the Problem Gambling Treatment and Support Advisory Committee to develop an evaluation plan to answer the following research questions (and any additional questions surfaced during the initial phase of work).Development of Comprehensive Evaluation Report :
Develop a comprehensive evaluation report utilizing the results of all primary and secondary data analysis, including research into other states from the landscape review. The report will be structured according to the research questions and evaluation plan goals and will include recommendations for the Problem Gambling Treatment and Support Advisory Committee to improve or expand efforts to reduce the negative impacts of problem gambling.
Salary : $35
