Job Description
Duration: 12 Months with potential extension, Shifts: 20 hrs./week (Core hours are typically between 7:.m. and 5:00 p.m.)
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with internal and external staff to administer treatment for behavioral health patients using nationally recognized standards and document using an electronic health record system.
- Conduct exams, write evaluations and reports.
- Order and interpret diagnostic testing.
- Manage medication.
- Make referrals for specialized care or treatment.
- Perform duties in accordance with scope of practice, ODRC policies, procedures, protocols, and related American Correctional Association standards.
- Participate in continuous quality improvement meetings and activities, including peer reviews.
- Engage in collaborative agreements as needed.
Requirements
- Doctoral Degree Required
- Ohio License Essential
- Healthcare-professional level CPR certification Necessary
- Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) certification Mandatory
Additional Information
- Schedule is flexible based on the needs of the facility.
- Caseload ranges from 75-100 patients.
- Psychiatrist will meet with 12-16 patients per 8-hour shift.
