Job Summary
Contract: 6 Months, Shift: 8am - 4pm (Monday to Friday)
- Provides psychological services to patients, residents, consumers, students, and/or inmates.
- Offers advice and consultation on psychological matters:
- Conducts psychological and/or neuropsychological evaluations/assessments.
- Administers, scores, and interprets psychological tests.
- Reviews pre-admission or pre-treatment data.
- Conducts interviews and writes evaluation reports and treatment plans.
- Evaluates treatment plans developed and quality of service rendered by others.
- Coordinates psychological services and programs.
- Assists with program development and conducts research on psychological assessment and treatment.
- May act as lead worker over lower-level psychological services staff.
- Conducts individual and group counseling and psychotherapy on various issues.
- Follows up on treatment and writes progress reports.
- Conducts psychological evaluations and/or court-order forensic evaluations.
- Conducts suicide risk assessments.
- Diffuses/de-escalates issues and role models positive behaviors.
- Conducts ongoing assessments of inmates to identify, prevent, and/or contain significant lethality risks.
- Provides psychological services to offenders under Adult Parole Authority oversight.
- Coordinates services between institution mental health services and local community providers.
- Completes re-entry accountability plans and conducts home visits.
- Provides specialized sex offender therapies.
- Provides psychological treatment in the form of psycho-educational classes and group psychotherapy.
- Participates in treatment team functions and provides technical assistance.
- Recommends policies and procedures for patient assessment, evaluation, and treatment.
- Evaluates defendants/patients for mental status, competence to stand trial, and/or sanity.
- Writes comprehensive forensic reports and recommendations for courts.
- Appears in court as an expert witness on forensic/psychological matters.
- Writes discharge summaries and behavioral recommendations.
- Prepares statistical reports and graphs summarizing behavioral progress.
- Acts as a liaison for offenders with various boards and staff.
- Serves as an advisor on psychological matters for various groups and organizations.
- Participates in staff development and in-service training programs.
- Serves on and/or chairs facility-wide committees.
- Acts as a consultant with various professionals and families.
- Participates in weekend coverage for the evaluation of offenders on suicide watch.
