Job Title: Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
As the primary medical/clinical leader of the Interdisciplinary Treatment Team, this role provides psychiatric and medical care to patients. Key responsibilities include admission and discharge of patients, psychiatric and physical examinations, diagnosis formulation, and treatment planning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform psychiatric, physical, and neurological examinations.
- Write orders for patient care.
- Collaborate with the Unit Director to provide advice and recommendations on unit operations.
The ideal candidate will have excellent clinical leadership skills, with a strong ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team. They will be responsible for providing direct service to patients, including group and individual counseling.
Additional duties include completing medical records in accordance with policy and procedure, preparing correspondence communicating findings, and participating in peer review, quality assurance, and utilization review activities.
Maintaining qualifications in basic life support (CPR) is also essential for this role.
This is a full-time position working Monday to Friday, 8am-5pm, with a 40-hour workweek.
