Position Overview
Primarily responsible for working in a team environment to mechanically prepare a NASCAR Cup Series racecar for competition when a substitute or extra roster spot is available. Responsibilities include service, installation, inspection, maintenance, repair and adjustment of various vehicle components and sub-assemblies in preparation for and throughout race events. This semi-traveling position will require an estimated attendance of 15-20 NASCAR Cup Series events in various road crew mechanic roles across all 23XI teams. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background, a fundamental understanding of vehicle setup and terminology, be extremely detail orientated, and have the desire and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment where precision is paramount.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Safety check and verify mechanical integrity of vehicle by thorough inspection of sub-assemblies including, but not limited to, driveline, steering, brakes, fuel containment, vehicle interior, and suspension. Reference and complete checklists as assigned by manager.
- Complete suspension, brakes, drive train, and setup changes.
- Includes, but not limited to, brake rotors and pads, drop gears, differential pressure, shock adjustments, spring rounds, and front and rear bar blades
- Assist team with driveline component changes including engine, driveshaft, transaxle, and half-shafts.
- Document component and setup changes made in preparation for and throughout race events.
- Assist team with NASCAR inspection process.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical failures at track through inspection and service.
- Aid team with over-the-wall crash repair during race events.
- Maintain organization and cleanliness of work area.
- Other duties as assigned by Manager.
Required Skills, Experience and Abilities
To perform the job successfully, you should demonstrate the following competencies:
- High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
- 3 years of as a mechanic in the NASCAR Truck, Xfinity, or Cup series
- Valid driver’s license
- Demonstrated strong mechanical knowledge and understanding of vehicle systems
- Ability to use and read basic metrology tools including tape measures and dial calipers
- Ability to use basic hand and power tools common in the automotive industry
- Ability to understand, communicate, and work with fractions and decimals
- Familiar with body and chassis repair
- Ability to work a flexible schedule
- Ability to assess and react to situations in a fast-paced stressful environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Skills to work independently, and operate well under pressure to meet tight deadlines
- Ability to identify and propose solutions to complex issues
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Must be willing to travel
- Welding ability is preferred
- Basic computer skills is preferred
