THE ROLE:
The Payroll Analyst is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring timely and accurate compensation for employees. This role requires a strong focus on data accuracy, compliance, and effective communication with internal teams and external stakeholders. The Payroll Analyst will ensure smooth payroll operations, resolve discrepancies, and support payroll-related training and inquiries.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Manage payroll processing for over 10,000 employees, from data entry and timecard validation to paycheck distribution and direct deposit setup.
- Ensure the accurate calculation of wages, deductions, bonuses, overtime, and taxes, and reconcile labor variances.
- Validate payroll totals, issue payments, and prepare year-end documents.
- Maintain and update employee records within the HRIS platform, reflecting promotions, transfers, terminations, and new hires.
- Prepare payroll reports for management, auditing purposes, and respond to government inquiries, including wage verification and garnishment orders.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for payroll-related inquiries, addressing discrepancies and resolving issues efficiently.
- Develop and implement payroll training for employees, monitor effectiveness, and make improvements to enhance understanding of payroll policies.
This is a hybrid position, coming into the El Segundo office 4x per month.
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE:
Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to process large volumes of data accurately and efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex payroll information clearly.
- Proficiency with HRIS platforms and payroll systems.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
- Knowledge of payroll regulations and compliance requirements.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information responsibly.
Qualifications:
- 1-2 years of experience in payroll or a related field.
- Strong multitasking ability and time management skills.
- Experience with payroll processing and reconciliation.
- Excellent leadership and customer service skills.
