Packaging Designer
Type: Temp-to-Perm
Location: Hybrid 3x per week onsite in Port Washington

We are seeking a talented and creative Packaging Designer to join our team on a freelance basis. In this role, you will report directly to the Art Director and collaborate closely with the Marketing teams to develop compelling design deliverables, planograms, and visual merchandising concepts. Your main responsibilities will include conceptualizing and rendering innovative display and packaging ideas for new products, creating packaging mock-ups/prototypes, and designing both primary and secondary packaging.

You will be expected to follow best practices for brand guidelines to ensure all projects adhere to our established brand standards. Staying ahead of global retail trends is essential, as you will be encouraged to contribute fresh ideas that drive consumer engagement.

Major Duties & Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the Art Director and Marketing teams to create design deliverables.
• Conceptualize and render innovative display and packaging ideas for new products.
• Create packaging mock-ups/prototypes and design primary and secondary packaging.
• Ensure adherence to brand guidelines and best practices.
• Stay updated on global retail trends and contribute creative ideas.

Qualifications:

• A minimum of 5 years in Graphic Design/Graphic Arts, Digital Media, or a related field.
• Extremely proficient with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop & InDesign).
• Strong typographic skills with the ability to minimally retouch photos.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Proven ability to work independently while thriving in a collaborative creative setting.
• Deadline-oriented with a track record of meeting both creative and timing expectations.
• Capability to present concepts/ideas effectively to senior management.
