Responsibilities
- Research and Inspiration Leadership
- Trend Forecasting: Lead trend research, leveraging advanced knowledge of global trends, colors, materials, and styles. Guide the design team in incorporating these insights into collections.
- Vision Development: Oversee the creation and refinement of mood boards to set the creative direction for collections, ensuring alignment with the brand identity.
- Advanced Design and Sketching
- Concept Development: Lead brainstorming sessions to develop innovative design concepts.
- Sketching: Produce high-quality jewelry sketches (both hand-drawn and digital) that inspire and guide the team.
- Technical Drawings: Create precise technical drawings and specifications, ensuring seamless translation from concept to production.
- Material Strategy and Sourcing
- Material Procurement: Establish and manage relationships with top-tier suppliers, negotiating for premium materials.
- Material Library: Develop and oversee a comprehensive materials library for the team.
- Sample Production Oversight
- Production Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact with sample makers, machinists, and external partners, ensuring design fidelity and timely sample delivery.
- Quality Assurance: Review samples, identify necessary adjustments, and ensure adherence to design specifications.
- Strategic Administration
- Workflow Optimization: Implement systems to enhance the organization of the design space, from conference rooms to sketch archives.
- Development Tracking: Maintain oversight of the product development timeline, proactively identifying and addressing bottlenecks.
- Leadership and Collaboration
- Team Leadership: Mentor junior team members and foster a collaborative environment.
