Well-known home and lifestyle brand is looking for a head of digital video operations to cover for a maternity leave. This is a temporary position, but there is the potential for a permanent, full-time role based on performance, business needs, and the successful integration into our team. We are seeking an experienced digital video leader who is data driven and organized to lead a team of high-performing content creators for their YouTube channel (with nearly 7MM views!). Experience with lifestyle or home category content is highly preferred. Be sure to highlight that experience to move you to the top of the pile!
This role demands creative, collaborative and project management mindsets, with a focus on managing content creation and distribution at scale. An ideal candidate has experience working in a fast-paced digital environment, executing exceptional and strategic YouTube-specific content, all while having a deep-rooted understanding of YouTube best practices and digital culture. This role reports directly to the SVP of Digital.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all brand's creative initiatives on YouTube, aligning with the company and talent’s vision and editorial priorities for the platform.
- Lead and mentor a diverse team of video producers, editors, and production staff, fostering a culture of creativity, teamwork, and innovation, while ensuring smooth collaboration and meeting project milestones.
- Manage end-to-end video production workflows, from pre-production through post-production, ensuring high-quality output within deadlines and budget.
- Leverage YouTube analytics and other third-party tools to monitor video performance, assess KPIs, and implement data-driven improvements.
- Prepare regular reports and updates for senior leadership, outlining key metrics, content performance, team progress, and opportunities for growth.
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the successful execution of all video projects.
- Manage the operational budget for video production and distribution, ensuring efficient use of resources while meeting production goals.
- Oversee YouTube project management, including the content calendar and video production schedules, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with audience preferences and platform trends.
- Lead strategy, ideation and execution for all brand sponsor partnerships.
Skills/Experience:
- 5 years of working in a creatively driven role specializing in overseeing the shooting, producing and editing of digital video content for a high-profile YouTube channel.
- Proven experience in managing digital video operations, ideally with a deep understanding of YouTube’s platform and ecosystem, including monetization strategies, analytics, and algorithm changes.
- Expert project management skills and organization skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously, all while meeting deadlines.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience mentoring and guiding a team of diverse video professionals.
- Strong ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions to optimize content and channel performance.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with multiple teams and communicate insights effectively.
- Ability to balance creative content development with operational efficiency and audience engagement strategies.
- Proven success pitching YouTube-specific creative and seeing projects through end-to-end experience with giveaways and brand partnerships.
