What are the responsibilities and job description for the Retail Story Designer position at 24 Seven Talent?
24 Seven is partnering with a top global sportswear client to help them find a Retail Story Designer for this hybrid position in Portland, OR This is an on-going contract working 4 days a week onsite. While on contract, you'd be eligible for benefits including medical, dental, vision, and more.
Ideal Candidate: will have 3-4 years of experience in brand design, art direction, and graphic design, with a strong ability to craft compelling visual communications and concepts. They also have a solid portfolio of creative work and proficiency in Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and Keynote.
WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON
- Work with the Art Director and Sr. Designer, Studio team to develop innovative and original creative storytelling that supports original retail environments, both seasonal and 365.
- Deliver best-in-class storyboarding, graphic design photography, video content, digital and experience design in service of the category, retail & consumer.
- Develop and maintain relationships with photographers, filmmakers, illustrators, designers, spatial designers and external studios.
- Help craft art direction and the best expression for our brand across digital and physical, ensuring design approach and content is always on-brand, diverse, contemporary, desirable and within agreed budgets.
- Keep up to date with emerging trends in fashion, design, film, art, media and technology as relevant the design team.
- Ensure all projects are well-planned, creatively exceptional, and delivered on-time.
- Review project work for highest standards of quality, consistency and success.
WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH
You will collaborate with internal and external design teams to complete multiple projects by using design processes and practices to ensure the creative intent, design results, timelines and budgets are met.
WHAT YOU BRING
- Minimum of 3-4 years of brand design, art direction and graphic design experience demonstrating creative sophistication in concepts and design/visual communications
- Solid portfolio of creative work, exhibiting a seasoned background in digital and editorial design.
- Great knowledge and expertise in all aspects of layout, typography, illustration, identity, digital production and publishing across editorial formats and platforms.
- Thorough understanding of today’s media landscape and how people engage with content, with in-depth knowledge of interactive communication, processes and user-interface design for digital products.
- Ability to collaborate with and partner with freelance design talent.
- Ability to lead team efforts while also working independently to deliver on individual responsibilities.
- Excellent verbal and visual communication skills; adept at presenting and defending creative work.
- Innate curiosity and in-depth understanding of design culture, current and past.
- Experience across O2O environments, with ability to bridge a connection between business needs, creative vision, and consumer interests.
- Retail industry experience with motion, 3D and Illustration ability, preferred.
- Comfortable in creative tools such as Keynote
