Job Description
We are looking for an experienced accounting / finance professional to drive growth as we build the infrastructure and systems needed to support Company level commercialization efforts. This role will report to senior finance management and will leverage accounting operations, deep technical accounting, and financial close experience to build financial systems and controls as we look to an IPO on the horizon. We are looking for candidates with a strong vision to lead the upgrade of processes, controls, reporting procedures to inform our management's decision making. We want an individual who will learn 24M's technology and business strategy, create tools to facilitate our execution and continuously improve all our processes and procedures.
The core responsibilities of this role will be to lead the monthly close and financial reporting processes, preparation of project and grant revenue activities, assistance with the year-end financial statement audit as well as ad hoc accounting and finance projects. This employee will work closely with the finance and accounting teams as well as all other departments to execute the core responsibilities described above as well as to support the overall finance function and broader management team.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for leading the monthly close process including preparation and review of various accounting analysis, managing status and driving to completion
- Assistance with preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting information
- Prepare monthly project revenue analysis and reporting
- Lead special projects as needed in areas of treasury, accounts payable, payroll, procurement, ERP, HRIS, government accounting, and miscellaneous audits
- Serve as accounting leader of month-to-month government grant activities including the review of monthly invoices, updates to grant forecasts, and quarterly reporting requirements
- Managing income tax activities, and corporate insurance and workers compensation information
- Ensure quality control over financial reporting and financial transactions
- Assist with the development and documentation of business processes and polices
- Continuous improvement of quality and efficiency of systems, processes, and internal controls
- Mentor and coach current staff accountants
