Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Maintenance Person to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the functionality and safety of our 2 facilities through regular maintenance and repairs. This role requires a strong mechanical knowledge and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. The Maintenance Person will play a crucial role in maintaining a high standard of service and operational efficiency.
The Facilities Worker will be responsible for the general cleaning, maintenance and repair of the 29 Palms Inn (Hotel & Restaurant) & Campbell House.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Arrive at schedule time.
- Ability to perform a wide range of maintenance tasks.
- Maintain departmental compliance with hotel and restaurant maintenance procedures.
- Respond to building and/or ground safety concerns.
- Support hotel and restaurant maintenance programs and executes daily, weekly, and monthly check
lists.
- Maintain the restaurant, public spaces, and back of the hotel and restaurant areas in good repair by performing various tasks related to a variety of trades.
- Grounds maintenance, watering and care of plants around the restaurant area.
- Conduct minor repairs to the infrastructure including painting, minor plumblng, and other types of repairs.
Skills, Experience, Education, and Abilities
- Ability to work in a fast-paced restaurant and resort environment.
- Interact with a variety of individuals including guests, owners, management, and co-workers with respect and professionalism.
- Must possess knowledge of basic hand/power tool operation.
- Regularly handle multiple projects at one time.
- Able to work with a minimum of supervision.
- High School diploma or GED.
- I year of previous commercial janitorial, construction, or maintenance experience.
- Valid CA driver’s license.
Working Conditions
- The 29 Palms Inn is a resort located in the hi-desert open 7 days a week, 6:00am to 11:00pm. The
Facilities Worker may need to be available to assist other departments when needed and work a flexible schedule. This may include days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- The Inn is spread out over 40 acres. Most of the grounds can be accessed on foot but at times may require driving a company or personal vehicle.
- Temperatures can reach over 100 degrees.
- Must be able to stand for hours at a time. Be able to bend, and squat.
- Ability to lift 70 lbs.
- Work with chemicals and equipment according to OSHA standards.

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
