We are seeking a skilled System Administrator Specialist to maintain, upgrade, and manage our software, hardware, and networks. This role requires a resourceful professional who can quickly diagnose and resolve problems, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and ensure our technology infrastructure operates smoothly and efficiently.
Please note that this is a hybrid role and you'll be required to be on-site at least once per week.
Responsibilities :
- Set up and configure PCs, software, and hardware.
- Manage user accounts for platforms such as Jira, Office 365, and others.
- Monitor and maintain system performance to meet organizational requirements.
- Troubleshoot network issues, including WiFi and other connectivity problems.
- Implement and manage network configurations using Ubiquiti UniFi.
- Automate and monitor PC configurations using tools like Ansible.
- Investigate and resolve system outages or security concerns.
- Ensure system security through access controls, backups, and firewalls.
- Upgrade systems with new releases and models.
- Create and maintain internal technical documentation, manuals, and IT policies.
- Provide training to staff on new technologies as needed.
- Proven experience as a System Administrator, Network Administrator, or similar role.
- Proficient with Linux-based systems and comfortable troubleshooting Linux environments.
- Hands-on experience with databases, networks (LAN, WAN), and patch management.
- Knowledge of system security practices (e.g., intrusion detection systems, data backup / recovery).
- Familiarity with Ubiquiti UniFi for networking management is strongly recommended.
- Ability to automate tasks and monitor configurations using Ansible.
- Strong resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to train non-technical staff.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline. Professional certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA)) are a plus.
