Position Overview :

Our client, a leading commercial HVAC / mechanical organization, is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Professional to join their team. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying, developing, and maintaining relationships with clients and stakeholders to drive growth and expand the organization’s footprint in the commercial HVAC / mechanical sector. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact within a growing company by leveraging your industry expertise and relationship-building skills.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the commercial HVAC / mechanical market, including building owners, general contractors, architects, and engineers.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, ensuring satisfaction and repeat business.
  • Create and execute strategic business development plans to achieve revenue and growth targets.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams, including pre-construction, engineering, and project management, to develop tailored solutions for clients.
  • Prepare and deliver compelling presentations, proposals, and bids to prospective clients.
  • Conduct market research to identify emerging trends, competitor activity, and potential opportunities.
  • Represent the organization at industry events, trade shows, and networking functions to promote services and build professional relationships.
  • Track and report on business development activities, using CRM tools to maintain accurate records of client interactions and sales pipeline.
  • Collaborate with marketing teams to develop promotional materials and campaigns targeted at prospective clients.
  • Stay informed about advancements in HVAC / mechanical systems and industry best practices to better position the company in the market.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven track record of success in business development, sales, or client management within the commercial HVAC / mechanical or construction industry.
  • Strong understanding of HVAC / mechanical systems and their application in commercial settings.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve measurable results.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess market trends and adapt strategies accordingly.
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Familiarity with local and regional commercial construction markets.
  • Experience working with design-build and design-assist project delivery methods.
  • Membership or active participation in industry organizations such as ASHRAE or ACCA.
