Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounting Bookkeeper with a strong background in Deltek software (Vantagepoint or Vision preferred) to join our accounting team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, supporting project accounting, and ensuring smooth financial operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and process accounts payable and receivable using Deltek
- Prepare and post journal entries, bank reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end closings
- Reconcile project costs and support project accounting functions
- Track expenses and assist with budget preparation and forecasting
- Generate regular and ad hoc financial reports using Deltek
- Maintain and organize financial documentation and records
- Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards
- Support audits and provide required financial documentation
- Communicate with vendors, clients, and internal departments regarding billing or financial inquiries
Qualifications:
- 3 years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or a related financial role
- Hands-on experience with Deltek software (Vantagepoint, Vision, or Costpoint) is required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications
- Strong knowledge of general accounting principles and practices
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in an A/E/C or professional services environment
- Familiarity with project-based accounting
- Knowledge of Deltek report generation and customization
