What are the responsibilities and job description for the Technical Artist (Intern) position at 2K?

What We Need:
Our Novato studio is looking for an Intern Technical Artist to work with other Technical Artists on the next iteration of the award-winning NBA 2K franchise! In this role, you will work with trained professionals learning the techniques and standard processes of working in a professional environment. You will learn the importance of being a clear communicator who fosters improvements of every aspect of artist life and efficiency and can act on these ideas.
What You Will Do:
- Work with the art and engineering departments to understand project requirements
- Prioritize and develop procedural assets to streamline art processes, workflows, and pipelines
- Shape our in-house tools to fulfill the latest requirements and suggestions
- Proactively research and prototype new techniques to improve efficiency of content production
Who Will Be A Great Fit:
- College level training in 2D Art programs
- Strong Python scripting experience
- Comfortable with Maya Tools and broad Maya experience
- Character rigging experience in Maya,
- Familiarity with Perforce and P4Python API
- Strong interest and ability to learn new processes and techniques
- Proven ability to work well within a team environment
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multitask
Nice To Have:
- Familiarity with Shotgun and its Toolkit API
- Experience writing Maya plugins
