Position Summary :
The Engineering Installation Manager plays a crucial role in leading the planning, execution, and completion of critical infrastructure projects, including the installation and commissioning of power and cooling systems in data centers and IT environments. This role requires both hands-on technical expertise and strong project management skills to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will serve as the primary point of contact for customers, oversee subcontractors and technicians, and ensure compliance with industry regulations and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities :
- Project & Installation Management :
Lead and self-perform installations of critical power and cooling infrastructure, including racks, PDUs, UPS systems, cooling units, and monitoring solutions.
Oversee projects from initiation to completion, ensuring all deliverables, schedules, and budgets are met.Conduct pre-installation site evaluations to assess conditions and address potential challenges.Ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and industry best practices.Maintain accurate documentation, including installation checklists, as-built drawings, and site reports.Customer & Stakeholder Communication :Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, maintaining clear and professional communication.
Conduct initial discussions to understand project requirements, scope, and objectives.Provide regular updates to clients on installation progress, timelines, and site readiness.Present project solutions to customers, demonstrating how proposed designs meet their needs.Technical Expertise & Team Leadership :Possess in-depth knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems to troubleshoot and mitigate issues.
Develop and review installation plans, ensuring alignment with customer requirements and industry standards.Supervise and coordinate subcontractors and technicians, ensuring quality workmanship.Negotiate scope of work and pricing with subcontractors and manage their activities on-site.Project Coordination & Process Optimization :Develop detailed Bills of Materials (BOMs) and project proposals for customer approval.
Utilize project management tools (such as Zoho) to track progress, manage resources, and ensure timely completion.Address and resolve issues related to IP systems, ensuring proper implementation and programming.Conduct assessments of MDFs to ensure they meet project specifications and standards.Qualifications :
5 years of experience in critical IT infrastructure, electrical systems, or data center installation.Strong project management skills, with experience overseeing projects from planning to completion.Technical expertise in power distribution, battery backup systems (UPS), cooling solutions, and IT rack-mounted hardware.Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.Excellent communication, problem-solving, and time-management skills.Proficiency in computer-based systems and willingness to learn new software applications.Strong commitment to safety regulations and industry best practices.Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting up to 50 lbs., working from heights, and extended standing.Willingness to travel (up to 30% or more depending on project needs).Preferred Qualifications :
Certifications in BICSI, NICET, or other industry-related training.Experience with structured cabling and networking equipment installation.Knowledge of critical facility monitoring and automation systems.Why Join 2NSystems?
