Job Overview:
We are seeking dedicated individuals to join our team as Detention Officer. As a Detention Officer, you will perform tasks providing routine supervision to the resident population while providing security for the facility. The Detention Officer reports to the Residential Supervisor.
Responsibilities:
- Supervises community service projects for the Facility
- Arranges and transports residents
- Monitors and enforces movements while residents are in/out of the Facility
- Conducts physical security checks of all Facility property
- Verifies resident count/status/whereabouts on a continuous basis
- Makes random and frequent checks to determine compliance with fire, health and safety codes
- Works flexible hours when needed to assure the success of the programs and the Facility
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Residential Supervisor
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Valid driver's license
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to handle conflicts and deescalate tense situations
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred
