Requirements:

• 2 years of prior veterinary experience
• Knowledge of industry tools and equipment
• Abaxis lab equipment knowledge preferred, not required
• Confidently and comfortably restrain animals
• Knowledge of surgical prep, monitoring, and recovery
• Compassionate and caring toward our clients and their pets
• Ability to work rotating weekends
• Must be able to lift over 50 pounds.
• Multi-task efficiently
• Understand the importance of client education
• Be a positive and supportive team member

We are a group of highly trained, experienced animal lovers who are devoted to giving our patients the best care possible. 2nd Ave Animal Hospital is actively seeking an organized, compassionate, and service-oriented Veterinary Assistant / Veterinary Technician who is confident in rooming patients, assisting in surgery, placing IV catheters, drawing blood and running bloodwork using Abaxis equipment, experienced in properly handling and restraining animals, knowledge of x-ray and positioning, understands the importance of client education, able to confidently dispense and administer medication prescribed by the veterinarian, and is a positive and supportive team member. The veterinary industry is constantly advancing and we encourage our staff to do the same.
