Job Summary:
The Patient Relations Specialist is primarily responsible for providing excellent customer service by assisting patients over the phone with scheduling, relaying medical information and/or medical information requests. Responsible for creating a caring and receptive patient environment while promoting an effective and efficient scheduling process. The Patient Relations Specialist is expected to perform in a fast paced/high volume environment.
Duties / Responsibilities
· Good understanding of all services offered within Mood Treatment Center
· Provide daily coverage for incoming calls
· Transfer calls to the appropriate location or department and keep hold times to a minimum
· Take patient calls/texts and provide accurate information regarding their concerns
· Accurately schedule new and established patients
· Log and return voicemails
· Complete tasks assigned by email (submitted by clinical staff, patients, and coworkers)
· Verify demographics and billing information during all scheduling calls
· Assist with prior authorization processes and procedures
· E-scribe/Call in medications per provider request, patient request etc.
· Match new patient requests to appropriate clinical staff based on provider specialty and in-network insurance status
· Coordinate insurance verification process
· Communicate estimated cost of care to new patients, collect deposit and post to patient account
· Other duties assigned by supervisor

· Strong critical thinking skills
· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
· Computer skills using Microsoft software, scheduling software, and email applications
· Ability to perform multiple duties in a fast pace and high-volume environment
Education and Experience:
· High school or equivalent (Required)
· Previous call center experience (Required)
· Experience in mental health field (Preferred)
