Job Summary:
The Regulatory and Compliance Specialist will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring the agency's compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as industry standards. This position involves developing, implementing, and monitoring compliance programs to mitigate risks and promote ethical practices within the organization. Regulatory and Compliance Specialist will also provide training and support to staff and serve as a liaison with regulatory agencies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive compliance program to meet federal and state regulatory standards.
- Conduct regular compliance audits and assessments of all agency operations to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
- Identify, analyze, and mitigate compliance risks; recommend appropriate corrective actions as needed.
- Stay current on changes in healthcare regulations and policies affecting home health and home care agencies, ensuring timely updates to compliance practices.
- Provide guidance and training to staff on compliance policies and best practices, fostering a culture of compliance throughout the organization.
- Act as the main liaison with regulatory agencies during inspections and investigations; prepare documentation and reports as required.
- Investigate compliance-related issues and concerns, documenting findings and recommending appropriate actions.
- Prepare, maintain, and update compliance-related policies and procedures in accordance with best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with leadership to develop strategies that promote a culture of ethical behavior and compliance.
- Generate regular reports for leadership on compliance activities, findings, and recommendations.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, nursing, business administration, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of five years of experience in compliance, regulatory affairs, or a related position within the healthcare industry.
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations pertaining to home health care, including, but not limited to, Medicaid requirements.
- Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ); preferred
- Certified Nurse Manager (CNM); preferred
- Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC); preferred
- Strong analytical skills with keen attention to detail and the ability to interpret complex regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present information clearly and effectively to diverse audiences.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a dynamic environment.
- High ethical standards and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
- Strong technology skills (i.e; Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
