Position Title: Assistant Store Manager

Reports to: Store Manager / Sr. Store Manager

General Position Summary
This position is responsible for managing all store activities for the purpose of increasing sales and realizing profit. Duties include supervising, directing staff, and assuring that all company and store procedures are handled promptly and correctly. In addition, this position performs customer service to ensure that customers are satisfied, and their needs are fulfilled. The Assistant Store Manager manages the store supporting the Store Manager with all Store Manager duties.
Essential Job Functions
STORE MANAGEMENT
- Responds to and supports any and all situations within the store.
- Responds to any and all needs of the store.
- Performs Buyer Duties
- Monitors and controls all expenses including staff expenditures ensuring budgetary requirements.
- Oversees the work activities of the entire store and monitors performance of the store to ensure store goals are achieved.
- Monitors and evaluates the activities and products of 2nd STREET USA competitors..
- Manages and ensures all merchandise purchased meets the quality requirements in accordance with the company standards.
- Resolves customer complaints or concerns regarding sales, products, services, or other matters in a prompt and professional manner.
- Monitors the store’s inventory activities and maintains required inventory levels.
- Coordinates sales promotion activities and manages the pricing of all merchandise sold within the store.
- Directs and coordinates all activities of Sales Associates, and any other employees engaged in sales work.
- Monitors staff and provides directions according to the company policies and requirements.
- Trains newly hired employees as needed.
- Manages the staff ensuring company standards are followed meeting all metric and compliance requirements..
- Directs employees regarding operational and procedural issues.
- Assists in the planning and preparation of work schedules and assigning employees to specific duties.
- Manages employee’s work hours and attendance. (Issues Corrective Action as needed for attendance violations.)
- Responsible for ensuring all payroll related administrative duties are completed accurately, timely, and in accordance with the company policies and procedures.
- Performs hiring interviews.
- Trains newly hired employees.
- Assists in preparation of activity reports for the store, provides them to management for review and compliance.
- Ensures that all organization activities and operations are carried out in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and laws governing business operations.
- Manages all related forms/documents such as written agreements and receipts, etc.
- Manages all activities related to receiving and ordering of merchandise as well as any related items.
- Contact suppliers as needed.
- Ensures a safe working and customer environment. Identifies and eliminates any risk of injury and or accidents.
- Ensures that the proper security procedures are in place to protect employees, customers, as well as company assets.
- Continuously provides training to all employees, both current and new, ensuring the quality of the store operations are kept in line with the company’s standards.
- Coaches and trains store staff.
- Provides ideas to the management on how to retain employees.
- Upholds company and operational standards for the retail store, including the arrangement of displays and cleanliness.
- Plans, structures, and ensures staff understanding of the store operations and product layout.
- Wears appropriate attire and maintains a professional personal appearance in accordance with the company dress code.
- Informs customers of the store’s return and replacement policy.
- Assists and supports other duties assigned.
IN-STORE SALES
- Drives sales by interacting with customers to provide a genuine and welcoming experience.
- Applies fashion knowledge to make product recommendations and style customers.
- Provides assistance at the fitting room.
- Processes transactions, which may include using a mobile POS system.
- Processes apparel items and replenishes items on the sales floor as needed.
- Performs all point of sale tasks, including customer purchases and counting cash.
- Provides outstanding customer service.
- Prepares interior and window displays aligning store merchandise to the theme.
- Responsible for opening/closing procedures.
OTHER & MISCELLANEOUS
- Seeks constant improvement, more efficient, and less expensive ways to perform the daily work duties.
- Performs special projects and other miscellaneous duties as assigned by management.
- Maintains high ethical standards in the workplace.
- Reports all irregular issues and problems to management for solution.
- Maintains good communication with management, office staff members, and outside contacts.
- Complies with all company policies and procedures.
- Maintains a clean and safe working area.
