Role Overview: As a Production Brewer, you’ll play a crucial role in our brewing process. You’ll collaborate with our Head Brewer and team to create outstanding beers that resonate with our loyal patrons. From recipe formulation to cellar work, you’ll be hands-on and passionate about every step of the brewing journey.
Responsibilities:
- Brewing: Execute brewing operations, including mashing, lautering, boiling, and whirlpooling on our 20 bbl dual kettle Criveller brewhouse
- Fermentation: Monitor fermentation progress, manage yeast health, and ensure
consistent quality
- Cellar Work: Transfer, carbonate, and package beer (kegs, cans, bottles) with
precision. Equipment familiarity and ability to master would be required for a GEA
centrifuge, Good Nature pasteurizer, and a Wild Goose 5 head canning line.
- Quality Control: Conduct sensory evaluations, track data, and maintain high
standards. You’ll be preforming basic lab duties including cell counting and
viabilities, plating, ATP testing, forced fermentations, and VDK testing.
- Cleaning and Sanitization: Keep our brewing equipment and facilities spotless.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the brewing team to troubleshoot and innovate
and learn together.
- Safety First: Adhere to safety protocols, OSHA requirements, and maintain a safe
work environment for yourself and everyone in the company.
Qualifications:
- Passion: You live and breathe beer. Your enthusiasm is contagious!
- Experience: Previous brewing experience of 3 years at a production-level brewery
preferred.
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with brewhouse equipment, forklift and warehousing
experience, canning line experience, cellar processes, and quality control.
- Physical Stamina: You’ll need the ability to perform the physical demands of the
position which may include lifting up to 55 pounds, bending, and standing/walking
on a continual basis- up to 8 hours per day.
- Attention to Detail: Precision matters—whether measuring ingredients or cleaning
tanks, you’ll always look to make things better, safer, cleaner, stronger, more
efficient.
- Team Player: Collaboration and communication are essential in our tight-knit team.
- Flexibility: Brewing schedules can vary; adaptability is key. That said, this shift will
be primarily M-F, 8 hours long between the hours of 7am and 6pm. Occasional
weekend work is required as you may be asked to proudly represent 3 Sons at
festivals and events.
- Digital Literacy: Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Google Forms. We currently use
Ollie Ops and Order as our ERP/WMS.
