Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise a team of accounting staff, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Manage month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
- Monitor and analyze job cost accounting for construction projects, ensuring proper allocation of costs and accurate project profitability reporting.
- Collaborate with project managers and other departments to ensure accurate financial tracking and reporting for development and homebuilding projects.
- Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and other accounting transactions.
- Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Assist with audits, both internal and external, by providing necessary documentation and support.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies or issues in financial records and reports.
- Manage and mentor accounting staff, providing training and performance evaluations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role
- Previous experience in construction, homebuilding, or real estate accounting preferred
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and construction accounting principles
- Proficiency in construction accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and meeting deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
