Position Title: Laundry Attendant @ Hampton Inn North Virginia Beach Oceanfront

We are looking for a professional Laundry Attendant to join our team to embrace those values.

Position Overview:
A Laundry Attendant sorts, washes and folds laundry as needed by their facility. They also help remove stains from items with appropriate procedures as needed.

Job Functions:

• Loads articles into washer and adds specified amount of detergent, soap, or other cleaning agent.
• Turn the valve to fill the washer with water.
• Starts machine that automatically washes and rinses articles.
• Lifts clean, wet articles from the washer and place them successively into wringers and dryers for measured time cycles.
• Sorts dried articles according to identification number or type.
• Folds and places items in appropriate storage bins.
• Iron all table linens.
• Lubricates machines, using grease guns and oilcan.
• Ensures cleanliness of equipment
• May dissolve soap granules in hot water and steam to make liquid soap.
• May mend torn articles using needle and thread.
• May sort and count articles to verify quantities on laundry lists.
• May soak contaminated articles in neutralizer solution in vat to precondition for washing.
• May mix dyes and bleaches according to formula, and dye and bleach specified articles.
• Abides by the regulations of the material safety data sheet when using chemicals
• Reports to work for scheduled shifts, on time and in uniform in accordance with company policy.
• Knows and complies with all company policies and procedures pertaining to this position and its duties.
• Take the initiative to greet guests in a friendly and warm manner.
• Performs other related duties as required.

Qualifications

• General Education High School GED Required
• Able to communicate in English verbal and written.
• Previous experience in a similar role preferred.
• Works quickly without compromising quality
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Attention to detail and a passion for delivering exceptional service.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
