What are the responsibilities and job description for the 1st Shift Mold Technician position at 3151 Consulting?
POSITION SUMMARY
The Mold Technician is responsible for set up and start up our injection molding and compression molding machines. The mold technician will complete startup checklist for each run for accuracy and quality. The mold technician will troubleshoot equipment and make adjustments as needed. This role will also visually inspect items for consistency and high level of quality. Mold Technicians must have a good understanding of molding processes, be able to troubleshoot any issues that arise, and be able to communicate effectively with other departments. Overall, Mold Technicians play a vital role in ensuring that the production process runs smoothly and efficiently. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Applicants should have at least two years of experience working with injection molds as well as some material handling experience.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
- Troubleshooting and repairing molds
- Cleaning and maintaining tooling
- Ensure that all safety procedures are always followed.
- Ensure that all equipment is in proper working condition.
- Maintain high level of production and quality standards.
- Work closely with the production team to install molds properly
- Quality assurance of parts according to specification.
- Responsible for monitoring inventory and ordering mold-related supplies as needed.
- Set up / start up injection molding and compression molding machines
- Document mold changes and machine adjustments
- Understand the mold process “Sequence of Operation”
- Conducting preventative maintenance and inspection of molds and machines, repairing as needed
- Work directly with maintenance personnel, production personnel, and engineering in problem solving to ensure consistent quality parts and maximum production efficiency.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area and ensure proper safety conditions of equipment including immediately correcting or reporting safety issues.
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience with injection molding / compression molding (2 years preferred)
- Material handling experience preferred, ability to lift 60 lbs.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, use manual and computerized systems
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong problem-solving skills and understands basic mechanical principles
- Ability to troubleshoot molding issues and has good attention to detail
- Ability to follow instructions and procedures
- Ability to work with complex machinery
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $19.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
