Job Description: Entry-Level Drafter

Job Summary:
The Entry-Level Drafter is responsible for creating detailed CAD drawings and DXF files for the cutting department and other related drafting tasks. This role involves working closely with the engineering and production teams to ensure accurate and precise designs that meet company standards and customer specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- CAD Drawing Creation
- Develop and create detailed CAD drawings based on specifications provided by engineers, designers, and customers.
- Ensure all drawings adhere to company standards and industry best practices.
- Modify and revise drawings as necessary to reflect changes in design or production requirements.
- DXF File Generation
- Create DXF files for use in the cutting department.
- Ensure files are accurately formatted and compatible with cutting machinery.
- Collaborate with the cutting department to address any issues or discrepancies with the files.
- Technical Documentation
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including drawings, schematics, and design specifications.
- Organize and manage drawing files and documentation to ensure easy retrieval and reference.
- Collaboration and Communication
- Work closely with the engineering and production teams to understand project requirements and deliver accurate designs.
- Communicate effectively with team members to resolve design issues and ensure project timelines are met.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to project discussions.
- Quality Assurance
- Review and verify drawings for accuracy and completeness.
- Ensure all designs meet quality standards and conform to specifications.
- Conduct regular checks and updates to maintain the accuracy of technical drawings.
- Continuous Improvement
- Stay updated on industry trends, software advancements, and best practices in drafting and design.
- Participate in training programs and professional development opportunities to enhance drafting skills.
- Identify opportunities for improving drafting processes and implement best practices.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in drafting, engineering technology, or a related field preferred.
- Experience: Entry-level position; previous internship or coursework in CAD drafting is a plus.
- Skills:
- Basic knowledge with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and DXF file creation.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good organizational and time-management skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic understanding of engineering and manufacturing principles.
- Other Requirements: Willingness to learn and adapt to new tools and technologies. Ability to follow instructions and work under supervision.
Working Conditions:
- Standard office environment with occasional requirements to visit the production floor.
- May require extended hours during peak periods or to meet project deadlines.
