Position Overview : Full Time

We are looking for a hands-on, experienced Bar & Restaurant Manager to lead operations across our dynamic bar and dining spaces, including the launch and standardization of a brand-new bar in the heart of the University of Delaware campus . This is an exciting opportunity to help shape and refine a concept catering to a large college demographic while maintaining high standards of hospitality, efficiency, and profitability.

The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, high-energy environment , excels at staff leadership and cost control , and is skilled in developing beverage programs that balance creativity with customer appeal.

Key Responsibilities :

New Bar Development & Standardization (University of Delaware Location)

Play a key role in launching and standardizing operations at our new college-focused bar .
Establish efficient service models, inventory systems, and SOPs to ensure consistent execution.
Develop a beverage and cocktail program that resonates with a high-volume college demographic while maintaining quality and brand integrity.
Train staff on fast-paced service execution, responsible alcohol service, and guest engagement strategies tailored to a college crowd .
Build promotional strategies, themed events, and specials to maximize student engagement and drive traffic.

General Bar & Restaurant Operations :

Oversee daily front-of-house operations , ensuring smooth service and exceptional customer experiences.

Lead staff training, scheduling, and performance management to maintain high levels of service.

Work closely with the kitchen team to align food and beverage programs for a seamless guest experience.

Maintain a hands-on presence , actively engaging with guests and resolving service issues in real time.

Beverage Program Development & Cost Control :

Develop and manage innovative, profitable beverage menus that balance trends with operational feasibility.

Maintain strict inventory controls, purchasing systems, and cost-management strategies to maximize profit margins.

Work with vendors to negotiate pricing, secure sponsorships, and ensure high-quality ingredients .

Optimize labor and operational efficiency through smart scheduling and process improvements .

Event Planning & Promotions :

Develop and execute marketing-driven events, promotions, and special nights to attract college students and the general public.

Collaborate with local organizations, university groups, and influencers to drive traffic and engagement.

Oversee game-day, theme nights, and high-volume events , ensuring smooth operations and maximized sales.

Compliance & Safety :

Ensure full compliance with alcohol service laws, health codes, and safety regulations .

Train staff on responsible alcohol service , ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment for all patrons.

Regularly inspect bar and restaurant facilities to uphold cleanliness and operational excellence .

Qualifications :

Proven experience in bar and restaurant management, preferably in a college or high-volume setting .

Strong knowledge of cocktails, beer, spirits, and current beverage trends .

Hands-on leadership approach with a strong ability to train, mentor, and motivate a team.

Experience in high-volume service , with a knack for efficiency and guest engagement .

Strong financial acumen , including experience with budgeting, inventory management, and cost controls .

Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to fast-changing environments .

Experience in event planning, promotions, and student engagement strategies preferred.

Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays to meet business needs.

Alcohol management and food safety certifications (or willingness to obtain them).
