As we expand our neurological health services across the Northwell Health System , the Department of Neurology is seeking a BC / BE neuromuscular neurologist to join our multi-disciplinary team at Peconic Bay Medical Center (PBMC) in Riverhead, NY. Northwell Neurology offers flexible positions, which include a combination of inpatient and ambulatory responsibilities.
The Department of Neurology has seen tremendous growth over the past five years across all regions, with the goal of providing comprehensive, integrated health care and wellness services. Inclusion within the service line offers the opportunity to connect with a large group of neurologists, academic, teaching, world-class grand rounds, conferences, and the ability to discuss and share cases with experts in every subspecialty. At Northwell Health’s Institute for Neurology , we have three hospitals ranked in the top 50 in U.S News & World Report (North Shore University Hospital being the highest at #15 in the nation) as well as four comprehensive stroke programs, 11 primary stroke centers, and 1 thrombectomy-capable center.
The Department of Neurology, led by Dr. Souhel Najjar , a world-renowned neurologist, internationally recognized for his clinical, research, and teaching expertise, has seen tremendous growth over the past five years across all regions. The department brings together the vast resources of Northwell Health and the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra / Northwell to provide state-of-the-art care while contributing to advances in technology, education, and research.
Founded in 1951 as Central Suffolk Hospital, Peconic Bay Medical Center is the largest hospital in Eastern Suffolk County and the Eastern Hub of Northwell Health, the largest healthcare organization in New York State. As a non-for-profit 144-bed community hospital, we serve as the primary resource for advanced healthcare services for the 250,000 residents of the Riverhead area, Eastern Central Suffolk County, and Long Island’s North Fork. We provide our service area’s only Interventional Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory Suite, Level III Trauma Center, and NYUS-Designated Stroke Center.
