Hotel Assistant General Manager

360° Hotel Group
Mukilteo, WA Full Time
POSTED ON 3/27/2025
AVAILABLE BEFORE 5/26/2025

Do you want the good news or the better news first?
Ok, lets start with the good news. We just promoted one of our Assistant General Managers to GMs!

Congratulations to them and now we need to fill their vacancies with two new future General Managers. You see we are a bit obsessive about our succession planning and developing 1st time General Managers. While our goal is to show all our employees opportunities to career path from any position we are adamant that our AGMs #1 focus is to become a General Manager. Whether its with our company, at a competitor or half way around the world, we want to share the responsibility for getting you there.
Here is the better news: We've just opened a new restaurant, bar, and meeting area, and it's growing fast! You'll be able to take your experience here and run with it wherever you want! But lets take a close look at who YOU are.

I think you can guess the first one. You MUST want to eventually become a Hotel General Manager. Don't get me wrong, you may be awesome at many things (which we also want) but unless you have the drive to become a GM we just cant afford to have that position slow down or stop our other team members who need to work up through that same position in their own career paths. I did say we were a little obsessive on this topic.
Now lets talk about those things we want you to be awesome at, at least love and want to learn to be awesome at. Here is a glimpse at some of our Culture Shapers. Be honest with yourself and see if what drive us, drives you:

  • Learning and Development. Being both a teacher and a student is a lifelong ambition for you. You receive as much enjoyment in learning as you do in passing along the knowledge you have gathered. You care as much about your teams career growth as you do your own. You truly shine as mentor. You are already in the process of building a Wall of Fame of those you have succeeded in promoting or helping reach the next level of their career.
  • A Love of Food and Beverage. We just opened a new restaurant and bar, with a brand new meeting space opening shortly that we need to fill! The 5x5 Bar and Grill looks good, and it's growing fast. As is expected of a new and growing operation, we're looking for someone who is excited about F&B as we are, and is unafraid to jump in to help our F&B operation when needed. Having F&B in your background is helpful, but if you're passionate about learning that side of the business, that it's ok too. Be aware that restaurant operations will require you to be available up to 10PM each day to maintain operations.
  • Teamwork, Family and Support. We are proud to be a family business and we want you to be a part of that. Being apart of a team and feeling supported means we are all more than the title on our name tags elude to. It means we are all mentors, we all ask for help and we all give it. We look outside of our own sand boxes to offer support, share ideas and engage in making our entire company a better place to work.
  • Guest Experience. Honestly, I'm not sure how much we can train you on this one. To put it plainly, you are either passionate about service and the guest experience or you're not. If you are and its genuine then well see that passion and intensity when we meet. Now the tough part. The more imperative part. How do you build a service culture through your teams? How you get an entire hotel of team members who are all doing different jobs to be engaged, passionate and knowledgeable about delivering on that vision? (hint this one has bonus points attached).
  • Innovation and Change. Innovation is change that unlocks new value. For an industry that has been around forever and has been built on the most basic principles of hospitality, change is quickly enveloping our lodging world. So, its not really a question of do you want change its more of a question do you want to be a part of that change. If you don't, stop reading at this point, as this company probably isn't for you. However, if you do and are willing to share your experiences, voice your opinions and suggest your ideas to drive change, well now, you might just find a home here.
  • Making A Difference. No big innovation here. We just want to make a difference. With our teams, in our hotels, around our communities. We want to make decisions, lend our time, share our individual experience and spend our resources knowing its making a difference for those around us.
  • Fun. We spend half our waking day (or more) at work. Gone are the days of going to work, keeping your head down, nose to the grindstone, and in 40 years getting a watch for your troubles. If we aren't looking for ways to have fun, share smiles and create great environments at work, then you and your team are going to dread even showing up. And to that I say life's far too short. Work hard. Have fun. Make a difference. Not sure who said it, but they knew what they were talking about.
