Our client is a US-based global industrial/electromechanical manufacturer. Located in the KS City area, they partner with some of the world’s leading manufacturers in Aerospace and Defense. This is an exciting opportunity to join their team!
They're looking for an experienced (Principal or Senior level) Systems Engineer to develop safety-critical electronic hardware, power supplies, embedded software, and magnetics for aerospace and military applications. You’ll own product development from requirements through design, testing, documentation, and production support, working closely with a multidisciplinary engineering team.
The Opportunity:
- Lead the development, integration, and validation of digital-controlled power converters for safety-critical aerospace applications.
- Drive system architecture, decompose requirements, and maintain traceability from design through validation.
- Provide cross-functional leadership, building consensus and presenting technical content to diverse engineering teams.
- Identify and mitigate system failure modes in compliance with functional safety guidelines.
- Apply expertise in systems, software, power electronics, and digital engineering in a fast-paced, agile environment.
What we are seeking:
- 5 years’ experience in aerospace and/or military power supply OEM development
- Proven teamwork, knowledge sharing, and consensus-building in fast-paced, cross-functional environments
- Proficient with requirements management tools (e.g., Polarion, Jama, DOORS)
- Hands-on experience in verification and validation of safety-critical systems
- Strong knowledge of Aerospace and MIL standards, and network protocols (e.g., CAN, RS232, RS422, I2C)
- Skilled in electrical and software design for generator-powered systems and power management
- Model Based Systems Engineering experience preferred
Education & Experience
- BS/MS in Electrical or Systems Engineering
- Skilled in using electronic test and analysis equipment
- Experience testing and troubleshooting breadboards and prototypes
- Proficient in root cause analysis and coordinating failure investigations with internal teams and external labs
- Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills

Salary : $135,000 - $152,000
