Medical Biller and Coder

Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Biller to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing billing processes, ensuring accurate coding, and maintaining compliance with medical billing regulations. This role is crucial in facilitating the financial operations of our practice while ensuring that patients receive the highest level of service.

Duties

• Prepare and submit accurate billing claims to insurance companies and patients.
• Review patient records to ensure all services are documented and coded correctly.
• Follow up on unpaid claims and manage medical collections effectively.
• Maintain organized medical records and documentation for auditing purposes.
• Communicate with healthcare providers to clarify any discrepancies in patient records or billing information.
• Stay updated on changes in medical billing regulations and coding practices.

Skills

• Proficient in medical terminology, coding systems, and billing software.
• Experience in a medical office setting is preferred.
• Strong understanding of medical collections processes.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
• Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
• Effective communication skills for interacting with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems is a plus.

Expected hours: 36 – 40 per week
