Our growing Oil & Gas client is seeking an experienced Operational Oil & Gas Controller to oversee Revenue, JIB/AP, financial and operational reporting, cost control, and performance analysis across their oil and gas operations. The ideal candidate will provide critical financial insights, ensuring regulatory compliance, optimizing operational efficiency, and supporting strategic decision-making within the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Oversight: Manage, review and analyze the operational accounting functions, including Revenue, JIB/AP and assist with budgeting and planning.
- Operational Cost Control: Monitor and optimize production costs, capital expenditures, and operational efficiency.
- Performance Analysis: Assess key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive operational improvements.
- Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure adherence to industry regulations, company policies, and financial standards.
- Reporting & Documentation: Prepare financial and operational reports for senior management and stakeholders.
- Collaboration & Leadership: Work closely with field operations, finance, and corporate leadership teams to enhance profitability and efficiency.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement best practices to streamline financial and operational processes.
Qualifications & Skills:
- BS and/or MS in Accounting, public/private mix and CPA preferred
- 10-15 years of experience in oil & gas operational accounting and at least 5 years in a senior level supervisory role
- Strong knowledge of oil and gas production, cost structures, and regulatory compliance
- Proficiency in financial software, ERP systems, and data analysis tools
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with cross-functional teams
Compensation:
Base salary – low $200s
STI – 30%
LTI – TBD, but somewhere in the neighborhood of the STI
