To be eligible for appointment as a Shift Supervisor-Juvenile Supervision Officer, a person must: 1) meet San Patricio County employment guidelines; 2) be of good moral character; 3) be emotionally suited for working with resident/children; 4) be at least 21 years of age; 5) at least 1 year of college credit in Criminal Justice, Social Work, Psychology or related field or 2 years of working with emotionally disturbed and/or violent children or chemically dependent children; 6) have acquired at least a high school diploma or GED; (7) must obtain JSO certification within the first six months from the date of hire, and (8) must maintain the level of re-certification required by TJJD every two years. Must be able to work 12 hour shifts; that include weekends, holidays, oncall, and rotating day and night shifts.
