Job Details
Daily tasks will include:
- Candidate will perform IBM WebSphere design, administration and Other Middleware System architecture and administration tasks on Red Hat, Windows and AIX operating systems.
- Candidate will perform IBM WebSphere, HCL Portal, Elastic product design, administration and Other Middleware System architecture and administration tasks on Red Hat, Windows and AIX operating systems.
- Work with various agencies WebSphere middleware to consolidate, on-board, configure and maintain the WAS ND 8.5/9.x environment on Linux, AIX and Windows.
- Support highly visible P1/Sev1 applications such as IJAB Portal which hosts Electronic Fingerprint Process, Criminal and Non-criminal background checks, RAP Sheets, maintain Criminal history, SafeAct, Sex Offenders, NYSPIN applications for Public Safety.
- Support HCL Portal Product which includes day to day support for deployment of and configuration of Portal and Portlet Applications and Resources, upgrade and maintain.
- Assist and help to Automate the Enterprise Application using Jenkins and other Automation frameworks.
- Responsibilities which require Installation, Administration, Problem determination and resolution of WebSphere Process Manager and Elastic Products.
- Provide assistance in migrating and configuring Java applications from Windows environment to WAS ND Linux and AIX environment
- Responsibilities include providing web server support for the agency's developers running mission critical java application. This responsibility includes troubleshooting java errors, java code, web server errors and database connection issues.
- Candidate will be tasked with applying software enhancements, security patches and bug fixes to the WAS and other supported middleware environment on a schedule basis.
- Work with the development staff and other teams on a regular basis to determine best approach for new application development (ex. Database connections, Security, External vs. Internal)
- Candidate will proactively monitor server and web server logs in order to meet service level agreements for application uptime.
- Candidate will be tasked with maintaining the WebSphere and other middleware with regular configuration Backup's.
- Candidate will be responsible for running UNIX commands in order to perform UNIX OS and Middleware tasks.
- Address and resolve technical issues in a timely manner. If necessary to work with vendor support to resolve web server and operating system issues ,24 x7 x365.
- Candidate will be tasked with documenting procedures into Wiki articles and training staff members as needed.
Systems Architect
Defines the architecture of a computerized system (i.e., a system composed of software and hardware) in order to fulfill certain requirement, including a breakdown of the system into components, the component interactions and interfaces (including with the environment, especially the user), and the technologies and resources to be used in the design.

- 84 months of experience in designing IBM WebSphere middleware, Business Process Manager earlier Known as Process Server, Administration and conducting high availability design, builds, upgrades and performance turning on AIX and Linux OS.
- 84 months of experience in HCL Portal earlier Known as IBM WebSphere Portal Installation, configuration and upgrades, application/code migrations and performance tuning.
- 84 months of experience working closely with Java architects/developers to troubleshooting critical Java applications for Public Safety Applications. This includes reviewing Application Server Logs, Application Exception/error logs, hung threads and making recommend code changes in order to fix critical issues round the clock (24x7x365).
- 48 months of experience with Installation, Configuration and Administration of IBM HTTP Server (Client) 9.x and Apache WebServer 2.4.x .
- 60 months of experience with Unix operating systems and monitoring OS resources, CPU, memory, disk spaces. etc.
- 60 months of experience with the following: ACLs, LDAP, SSL, Load Balancing, Firewalls, Database Connection Pooling and Connection Factories.
- 60 months of experience in WebSphere Application Server Deployments and on WebSphere Portal and HCL Portal, deploying Portlet Applications, creating pages, adding portlets to pages and access control lists.
- 36 months of scripting experience using ksh, wsadmin and Jython to automate operating system and WebSphere Application Server environment tasks.
- 36 months of experience in all of the following SSO/SAML, SiteMinder, OKTA, RSA and TAI setup in WebSphere ND
