The ORTHODONTIC ASSISTANT will support doctors during treatment exams and all necessary functions. Candidates will be responsible for performing all duties of a Registered Dental Assistant while providing quality customer service and maintaining a professional relationship and positive attitude with co-workers and patients alike.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Greet and prepare patients for dental care

Assist the orthodontist at the chair while they are engaged in any treatment of patients

Excellent communication skills

Must anticipate the orthodontist's needs and be prepared for the next steps

Removal and placement of arch wired

Tooth preparation prior to bonding

Accurate computer charting

Sterilization of chairs and instruments

Responsible for oral hygiene instructions

Placement and removal of brackets

Experience and Qualifications:

Orthodontic Assisting: 1 year (Preferred)

Minimum high school diploma or equivalent

Knowledge of dental terminology and dental procedures

Familiar with Sterilization

Familiar with OSHA guidelines and procedures

Experience in a professional environment with direct patient contact preferred

Previous experience required

Location: San Antonio, TX

Job Type: Part-time (2 Saturdays a month)

Hours: 7:30AM-2:30PM

Job Type: Part-time

Expected hours: 7 per week

• Day shift
• Weekends as needed
