Irrigation Technician (Part-Time) – Ada County, ID
We are looking for a skilled and reliable Irrigation Technician to join our landscaping team. This role offers the opportunity to manage the irrigation system of a large residential community using state of the art wireless irrigation technology and handle various smaller technical projects at various job sites throughout the season.
Position Details:
- Part-time: 24-32 hours per week (Monday - Friday), occasional weekends as needed.
- Pay: $24–$28 per hour (based on experience)
- Location: 16 acre residential community near Maple Grove Rd and Franklin Rd, in Boise and other locations around the Treasure Valley.
- Work Environment: In-person, outdoor work in all weather conditions
Responsibilities:
- Seasonal start up and shut down irrigation systems
- Learn about the latest trends in irrigation technology
- Help install state of the art wireless irrigation systems
- Troubleshoot and repair irrigation systems
- Adjust irrigation controllers for seasonal changes
- Replace and adjust sprinkler heads, valves, and other system components
- Assist in designing and installing new or upgraded irrigation systems
- Perform general landscaping tasks related to irrigation and maintenance
- Safely operate landscape equipment and tools
- Purchase necessary parts and materials from vendors
- Maintain accurate records for billing, purchase orders, and timekeeping
- Assist with preparing proposals and estimates for clients
Qualifications:
Experience: Minimum of 2 years working with commercial or residential irrigation systems
License: Clean driving record required to operate company vehicles
Skills:
- Strong verbal and written communication
- Ability to read and understand contract specifications and irrigation manuals
- Independent problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Open to learning about new irrigation technology
- Arrive to work on time and be reliable!
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
- Work outdoors in various weather conditions for 8-hour shifts, 3-4 days per week
Transportation: Must have reliable transportation to job sites
