Technical Writer

About the Role:

The Technical Writer is Responsible for developing content for new and existing products. Role will require working both independently and collaboratively as part of a team. This role researches products, services, technology, or concepts to be documented and easily understood by a broad audience.

What We Are Looking For:

• Determine the clearest and most logical way to present information for greatest reader comprehension.
• Generate innovative ideas for content and workflow solutions.
• Meet with subject-matter experts to ensure specialized topics are appropriately addressed.
• Analyze information required for the development or update of policy, procedure, form documentation and help information.
• Ensure proper review of content by relevant reviewers e.g. SME’s, peers as needed.
• Responsible for the research, development, and writing content for multiple types of media. E.g. documentation, video, AR procedures publications for documentation and supporting materials for technical procedures relating to the software and hardware of 3DS products.
• During the documentation planning phase, the Technical Writer must continually consider varying levels of the users.
• Plans own daily activities and prioritizes assigned tasks. 
• Manage translations requests and process and relationship with translation vendor
• Manage software support knowledge base working with relevant support agents and product management
  
  

What You'll Bring:

• Bachelor's degree in English, Communication, Engineering, Computer Science or related field
• At least 3 years' experience in technical writing or content development role
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish and evaluate facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
• Solid knowledge of Help authoring tool e.g. RoboHelp, InDesign, Adobe Creative Suite, 3D CAD application like SolidWorks, Microsoft 365
• Preferred AR / VR development, Familiarity with Oxygen XML Author
• Ability to evaluate a situation, consider the 3D product and determine which type of customer support document or digital media is appropriate. 
• Solid writing, communication, and computer skills. Solid electrical and mechanical knowledge is essential.
• Proactive and effective in eliciting information from subject matter experts
• Self-starter, results-oriented team player willing to do whatever it takes to succeed.  Able to quickly learn and apply new concepts to develop superior documentation.
• Strong organizational skills
• KCS (Knowledge Centered Services) or Equivalent Knowledge Base Standard Certification Preferred
