ABOUT THE ROLE
This is your opportunity to become a strategic partner to the CEO of 3Degrees, a leading environmental commodities company on a mission to accelerate the transition to a sustainable future. As Chief of Staff, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the company's direction and ensuring success across all strategic initiatives. You'll be the CEO's right hand, a trusted advisor, and a key player in driving 3Degrees' continued growth and impact.
This is a full-time, exempt, US-based role reporting to the Chief Executive Officer. We value camaraderie and the benefits of in-person connection. We prefer candidates to join us in a voluntary flexible hybrid work style at one of our office hubs in San Francisco, CA; Portland, OR; Portland, ME; or New York, NY. This voluntary model provides flexibility while fostering team collaboration. Exceptional remote candidates within the US will also be considered. Periodic travel may be required for team collaboration, training, or company events.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Strategic Partner and Thought Leader : Partner with the CEO to develop and execute on strategic initiatives that propel 3Degrees' environmental and business goals. Anticipate future challenges and opportunities, conduct thorough analyses, and present well-reasoned recommendations.
- Executive Orchestrator : Foster a culture of collaboration and high performance within the leadership team. Drive content creation for executive presentations and board reporting, organize and lead key meetings including leadership offsites, ensure clear follow-through on action items and carry out seamless communication across all levels of the organization.
- Facilitator of Collaboration : Facilitate productive discussions.
- Trusted Advisor : Manage highly sensitive information with discretion and integrity, maintaining the highest ethical standards in all interactions. Help the CEO navigate daily decision making and associated trade-offs.
- Advocate for 3Degrees' Mission : As a passionate advocate for 3Degrees' mission, you'll help translate the company's environmental goals into actionable strategies that drive real-world impact.
- Driver of Efficiency : Support team-level planning during the annual planning cycle, identify areas for streamlined processes, and help the CEO optimize their time and resources.
- Cross-Functional Collaborator : Partner closely with the Central Operations division and other key teams across the organization (e.g., Finance, Legal, Marketing) to ensure alignment on strategic priorities, facilitate effective communication, and drive successful execution of company-wide initiatives.

Onboarding and Relationship Building : Successfully complete all onboarding activities, including introductions to key stakeholders across all relevant departments and begin establishing strong working relationships.Understanding 3Degrees' Business & Strategy : Demonstrate a solid understanding of 3Degrees' core business lines, key strategic priorities, and the competitive landscape. This can be demonstrated through conversations with leadership and presentations to the CEO.Familiarization with Systems and Processes : Become proficient in using the key systems, processes, and tools used by the executive team.Initial Strategic Alignment : Begin to understand the CEO's working style, priorities, and communication preferences, and begin to contribute to daily operations by managing the CEO's schedule and communications.Within the First 90 Days :
Contributing to Executive Operations : Proactively manage the CEO's schedule, anticipate needs, and ensure efficient information flow. Begin drafting communications and presentations for the CEO's review.Successfully manage your first board reporting cycle : Working across teams to collect insights and report on the business.Cross-Functional Collaboration : Establish regular communication channels with key teams. Participate in relevant meetings and begin to contribute to cross-functional initiatives.Supporting Strategic Initiatives : Begin to support specific strategic initiatives as directed by the CEO.Meeting Facilitation and Follow-Up : Demonstrate the ability to effectively facilitate meetings with the executive team and other stakeholders.Within the First 6 Months :
Independent Project Ownership : Independently manage and drive key strategic projects for the CEO.Proactive Strategic Input : Proactively identify opportunities for improvement in executive operations.Effective Proxy and Delegate : Act as a trusted proxy and delegate for the CEO in key meetings and engagements.Content Creation Mastery : Independently create high-quality content for investor presentations and other key communications.Within 1 Year :

The following compensation and benefits information is based on 3Degrees’ good faith estimate as of the date of publication and may be modified in the future :
