Manufacturing Engineer

The person hired for this position will provide technical leadership and oversee manufacturing support of multiple 3M Divisions, products, processes, and systems. They will be responsible for advising, consulting, and troubleshooting product and processes at the 3M Greenville Site supporting the TEBG Film Manufacturing Product Family.

• Initiates, identifies, recommends and leads projects in the manufacturing area of responsibility to improve process safety, quality, service, product cost and health / environmental impact
• Programs must meet overall project timelines
• Responsible for performing and guiding technical activities resulting from approved, self-initiated, or assigned manufacturing programs leading to innovative applications and extensions of existing or new products / technologies having major importance to the business
• Actively participate in the day-to-day operations, specifically daily tier process, EHS activities, MOC process change management, asset performance analysis, and resolution of any gaps to KPI targets
• Lead improvement projects and problem-solving events to determine root causes for problems that occur and implement permanent long-term solutions to resolve those problems
• Monitor and improve manufacturing operations using Lean Six Sigma tools and methodology (design of experiments, statistical process control, lean management system, kaizens, DMAIC)
• Drive process understanding (PPU) efforts and product change processes to support business portfolio needs.
• Work closely with production and maintenance teams to perform troubleshooting activities and resolve equipment / downtime issues.
• Responsible for product release based on understanding of next step use and relationship with 3M partner divisions.
• Utilize strong communication skills to inspire, influence, motivate and teach other team members.
• Supporting a dynamic 24x7 operations through on-site support and a willingness to be on-call.

This range represents a good faith estimate for this position.
