The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
As a Plant Engineering and Technology Advancement Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that the facilities, and the machinery used to produce materials and goods, run safely, are compliant, and operate with maximum efficiency and output while driving advancements through technology. This includes total preventative maintenance, managing breakdowns of mechanical, electrical, and automated equipment. You will manage people, budgets, and cost reporting. You will be a member of the Red Wing plant leadership team and work to help facilitate continuous improvement, improve customer service, and meet business needs.
As a Plant Engineering and Technology Advancement Manager you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by :
- Leading the Plant Engineering Hourly Technicians to provide Preventive, Corrective and Emergency support for our operations
- Leading the Systems, Controls and Data Automation teams to make step changes in our operational effectiveness in efficiency, quality and safety through systems and technology.
- Implementing and ensuring use of a Reliability Framework and Asset Management System to drive continual improvements in safety, employee engagement and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE / CEE)
- Coordinating our Site Facilities Projects including building and grounds, security, HVAC and emergency procedures
- Creating a training model for Plant Engineering to become multi-disciplined including mechanical, electrical and controls
- Increasing plant operational effectiveness, improving on project delivery, mean time between failure and downtime reduction, and manage and implement improvement plans.
- Develop the plant automation 5-year roadmap in conjunction with operations and value streams
- Driving Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) ensuring that Health, Safety and Environmental requirements are adhered to.
- Implementing and managing continuous improvement and modern manufacturing principles by highlighting deficiencies and recommending changes in training, working practices and processes.
