The person hired for the position of Project Manager will be responsible for the leadership and execution of 2-3 high priority new product commercialization and/or management of change projects within the Advanced Materials and Transportation Product Platform (AMTPP) within 3M’s Transportation and Electronics Business Group. The successful candidate should have a demonstrated experience in product development commercialization. Candidate will be expected to deliver to negotiated project timelines, manage resources, and have thorough communication skills while leading and inspiring diverse cross functional project teams.

- Leading cross-functional project team(s) to successful completion of projects. This might include multiple medium to large scale projects with moderate risk or possibly a single high risk / high opportunity project at any given time.
- Collaborating with business management, project team members, division management to refine project scope and overseeing the development and completion of project plans.
- Generating communication plans and executing them across the business to assure stakeholders are current ensuring continued project support.
- Leveraging global resources across the business; including multiple disciplines, to achieve timely completion of project deliverables.
- Maintaining expertise to carry out project leadership duties and to effectively leverage a network of company and industry resources.
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who must have the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start)
- Five (5) years of experience in new product commercialization in a private, public, government, or military environment
- Advanced degree from an accredited University and/or PMP Certification
- Five years of experience in new product commercialization in a private, public, government, or military environment
- Innovative, resourceful, organized, and a self-starter with excellent handwritten and oral communication skills with analytical problem-solving ability
- Collaborative interpersonal style with experience in leading large cross functional project team
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with analytical problem-solving ability.
- PowerBI/Data Analysis
- Hybrid Eligible (Job Duties allow for some remote work but require travel to Maplewood, MN at least 2-3 days per week)
