The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
As a Vertical Business Director, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by :
- Operating as Transportation and Energy's (T&E) most senior leader driving innovation and growth in the Energy vertical. Focused on Oil and Gas, Nuclear, Hydrogen and Renewables sectors.
- Leading the vertical strategy developing and executing T&E’s business, technology, partnering, and go-to-market strategy for the global Energy business.
- Identifying major industry innovation trends and customer needs (pain points) and driving the insights and understanding back into TEBG’s product roadmaps to ensure the organization builds a world-class, innovative and differentiated portfolio of solutions.
- Building deep relationships with leading companies (Marquee / Key accounts) and ecosystem partners for the vertical
- Leading the account teams over Key account customers to build and execute long-term strategies that result in deep technology-oriented partnerships and strong revenue growth.
- Collaborating with T&E Operating Committee (OC) members and broader TEBG to understand the Energy industry and ensuring the T&E OC is supporting and enabling all strategic priorities that position 3M as a strategic partner to the industry.
- Leading technologists and application engineers as innovation partners to solve complex problems and develop future roadmaps.
- Overseeing and executing sales strategies for key accounts, including managing sales performance and gross margin within the Vertical.
- Compiling and sharing Vertical successes, insights, and learnings for marketing purposes.
- Representing the Vertical in external industry forums and associations.
- Developing and maintaining deep expertise in the Vertical's value chain.
- Partnering with Global Product Portfolio leaders to identify and prioritize New Product Introductions (NPI) based on marquee or key account needs.
- Partnering with the quality and regulatory organization to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements specific to the Vertical.
- Tracking and reporting on the return on investment (ROI) of Vertical marketing activities.
