Job Title: Field Technician
Location: Jacksonville, FL 32254
Working Days: Monday to Friday
Working Hours: 8:00AM to 5:00PM (40hrs/Week) (Shift timing may vary- need to be flexible)
Job Type: Temp, 6 months
Note:
- Valid Florida Driver’s License, clean driving record required.
- Driving client vehicle.
- Overtime maybe required.
Qualifications:
- High School graduate or GED equivalent
- Must have corrected vision of at least 20/40.
- Basic working knowledge of the methods of electric and water distribution and construction and operations of various metering devices.
- Journeyman work experience (utility meters, gas, electric, water, cable, communications).
- Handle and maneuver 30lb. metal water meter covers to determine consumption usage.
- Walk distances up to 10 miles per day
Responsibilities:
- Under general supervision, performs skilled work locating and reading electric and water meters, removes dirt from water meter boxes, and other laboring duties as assigned.
- Assist in locating, installation, removal, testing, and repairing of electric and water meters and associated ancillary related equipment.
- Reads electric and water meters and enters readings, conditions, and exception codes into hand-held field computers, noting irregularities pertaining to services such as dead meters, illegal use of electricity or water, incorrect rates, leaks, unsafe conditions and illegal installations.
- Responds to customer questions in regard to electric and water services, meter readings and consumption.
- Removes grass and dirt from water meter boxes in order to obtain meter reading
- Data entry of meter reading into a laptop or handheld device.
